What We Offer

Clinical Driving Evaluations

The gold-standard evaluation for medically complex and/or older adult drivers.

Each evaluation begins in the clinic with an assessment of the underlying skills required for driving, including physical, cognitive, visual, and perceptual abilities.

This is conducted by an Occupational Therapist who is skilled in tailoring the evaluation to each individual’s needs, and takes about 2 hours to complete.

Upon completion of the in-clinic assessment, appropriate clients will then be scheduled for an in-vehicle evaluation (to occur at a later date) before a final recommendation regarding driving safety is made.

Adaptive Driving Evaluations
& Training

Evaluations for those looking to drive with adaptive equipment such as hand controls, spinner knobs, and left foot accelerators.

Adaptive Driving clients will begin by participating in the in-clinic portion of the Comprehensive Clinical Driving Evaluation to assess physical, cognitive, visual and perceptual skills and determine if the client is a good candidate to learn to drive with adaptive equipment.

From there, appropriate clients will then participate in an in-vehicle assessment to trial different options of adaptive equipment. This initial process takes approximately 2 hours.

Recommendations for follow-up training will be made at the conclusion of the appointment.

Readiness to Drive Evaluations

Specialized evaluations for neurodiverse new drivers.

Clients begin with an initial Occupational Therapy evaluation to determine their learning style and assess the coordination, motor planning, executive function, and visual-perceptual abilities that are required for safe driving.

They will then go on to participate in an in-car passenger assessment for the opportunity to observe how the client attends to and processes critical information in the driving environment.

Recommendations regarding driving readiness and next steps will be discussed upon completion.
