Empowering Independence Through Life & Mobility Skills
Learning to drive—or even just getting around independently—can feel overwhelming, especially for neurodiverse teens and young adults who may struggle with attention, planning, and processing. That’s where we come in.
Our Executive Function/Mobility Coaching is a specialized occupational therapy-based service designed to build the foundational thinking and visual skills that support safe, confident driving—and so much more. We don’t just teach driving; we help individuals understand how their brain works, develop key cognitive skills, and gain real-world strategies for navigating both the road and everyday life.
Who Is This For?
This service is ideal for:
- Neurodiverse teens and young adults (including ADHD, autism, learning differences, and more) who have known executive function and/or visual processing deficits that are interested in learning to drive some day
- Individuals looking to build confidence and independence with community mobility skills, whether on foot or through use of alternative transportation methods
What We Focus On:
We support clients in strengthening the cognitive and visual-motor skills that underlie safe driving and independent mobility, including:
- Executive Functioning: Planning, prioritizing, task initiation, time management, and flexible thinking
- Attention & Focus: Staying on task, filtering distractions, and sustaining attention over time
- Visual Processing: Visual perception, spatial awareness, visual scanning, and processing speed
- Motor & Sensory Integration: Coordinating physical and sensory input for safe mobility
- Pedestrian & Public Transit Safety: Learning how to navigate crosswalks, read transit schedules, and plan safe routes
Whether your goal is learning to drive, taking public transit, or simply feeling more confident in the world, we’re here to support every step of the journey.
Why It Works
We take a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach. Using real-life scenarios, customized coaching, and evidence-based strategies, we help individuals turn challenges into growth areas—and everyday tasks into opportunities for independence.
