About Renee D’Antuono

Renee D’Antuono is an Occupational Therapist, Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS), and Professional Driving Instructor (PDI) specializing in driver evaluation, rehabilitation, and training. She works with individuals whose medical, physical, cognitive, developmental, or age-related needs may affect their ability to drive safely and independently.

Experience & Education

Renee earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Salem State University in 2016. During her graduate studies, she devoted two years to researching interventions and trends in driver rehabilitation, developing an early focus on the relationship between occupational therapy, functional ability, and safe driving.

Before earning her graduate degree, Renee spent more than 12 years working with medically complex older adults. She later worked with children and young adults with a variety of intellectual, developmental, and neurodiverse learning profiles. This broad experience gives Renee an understanding of how physical abilities, cognition, executive function, sensory processing, and individual learning needs can affect driving performance.

Driver Rehabilitation & Adaptive Driving

In 2019, Renee developed a specialized adaptive driving program in partnership with Triad Driving Academy. The program was created for new and experienced drivers facing medical, physical, or cognitive challenges.

At Drive-Rx, Renee applies her occupational therapy background and driver rehabilitation experience to help clients understand their driving abilities and determine an appropriate path forward.

Her practice areas include:

  • Comprehensive Clinical Driving Evaluations
  • Adaptive Driving Evaluation and Training
  • Readiness-to-Drive Assessments
  • Executive Function and Mobility Coaching
  • Educational Talks and Community Presentations

A Personalized Approach to Driving Independence

Renee understands that learning to drive, returning to driving, or determining whether it is safe to continue driving can be an important and sometimes challenging process for individuals and their families.

Her approach focuses on the individual rather than simply a diagnosis. Through specialized evaluation, instruction, and practical recommendations, Renee works to identify each client’s strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

She is passionate about the field of driver rehabilitation and helping people pursue greater independence through safe mobility. Whether a client is preparing to drive for the first time, returning to driving following a medical change, or adapting to new physical or cognitive challenges, Renee’s goal is to provide clear guidance and an individualized path forward.
