Fred’s Success with DriveRx

Background

Fred, an 83-year-old with a determined spirit, had spent the past year as a passenger in his wife Dorothy’s car. A medical condition had affected his ability to safely operate a vehicle using his lower extremities, limiting his independence.

The Challenge

For Fred, the goal was clear: get back behind the wheel. But doing so safely required learning a new way to drive—one that accommodated his physical needs and met RMV requirements for licensure.

The DriveRx Solution

Fred partnered with DriveRx for training in adaptive driving using hand controls. Over the course of several months, he built confidence and mastered the skills needed to operate a vehicle without using his feet.

The Outcome

Fred successfully passed his Massachusetts RMV licensure test and now drives independently using hand controls. He’s regained not only his mobility but also the freedom that comes with it. As Fred puts it, “You’ve made a difference for Dorothy and me.”

Summary
